Compose the music for a play, tell a story
through sound, improvise on an instrument of your choice with
the accompaniment of a real guitar or piano…. These
are just a few examples of what can be achieved when Soundbeam
is involved. I work closely with participants, parents, carers
or staff members to explore ways in which Soundbeam can be
used for specific individuals or groups to achieve different
goals, from personal to curriculum related.
Using Soundbeam, other music technology
and acoustic instruments, I can enable people, whatever their
physical ability and musical experience to:-
Play a large number of different “instruments”
and styles of music
Take part in group music-making activities,
playing alongside acoustic instruments
Become a musician with creative choices
Perform their music to an audience
Record their music to CD
Taking part in the creation and performance
of music using Soundbeam can provide impressive benefits:-
A sense of achievement
An improved sense of control
Encouragement of movement
Opportunities to practice social and
communication skills
Cross-cultural and generational participation
Distraction from pain
Fun
